A Different, Better Firm

As Ultranauts, we believe our differences make us better together. The diversity of human minds can be a powerful asset in any industry, and our differences can propel us forward to better ideas, better teams, better organizations, and a better world.

– Ultranauts Co-founders

Company

Founded by two MIT engineers, Ultranauts Inc. (formerly Ultra Testing) is on a mission to demonstrate that neurodiversity is a competitive advantage for business. To achieve our mission, we’re building a world-class quality engineering firm that delivers superior value for our customers, and designing a Universal Workplace that embraces diversity and serves as a replicable blueprint for other employers.

In 2013, we built the world’s first fully remote workplace for cognitively diverse teams, and today, we have colleagues working in 30 states across the U.S. More than 75% of our professionals across the company are neurodivergent, and 100% of Ultranauts believe our differences make us better together.

As a leader in software and data quality engineering services, Ultranauts has established a track record of partnering with both large enterprises and hyper-growth startups across a wide range of industries. Whenever our teams have been benchmarked vs. global consulting firms, we’ve delivered measurably superior results in terms of improving software and data quality, reducing business risk, and freeing up internal engineering, analytics and data science teams.

Named a Fast Company World Changing Idea, Interbrand Breakthrough Brand and MIT Solve Challenge Winner, Ultranauts is reimagining how a company hires talent, manages teams and develops careers to empower our teams to perform at their best.

Universal Workplace

Traditional HR policies, management practices, and approaches to diversity, equity, and inclusion, tend to focus on the needs of some groups but not others, which is wholly inadequate for a group as diverse as Ultranauts. Our team represents a wide range of information processing models, learning styles, problem solving approaches, communication preferences, lived experiences, strengths, and challenges, and our needs can’t be met through group-centric initiatives or individual accommodations.

As a result, what has emerged at Ultranauts is a work environment that is intentionally designed to be inclusive of everyone. When each of us can leverage our unique strengths and collaborate effectively with colleagues who are different, we achieve greater results together than any of us could on our own.

This is what we call a Universal Workplace.

Inclusion by Design

To design a work environment that leverages the power of our differences as an asset and creates the conditions for us to thrive together, we need workplace policies and practices that reflect our mission and operationalize our values.
